Prophetic Equipping and Development

Why?

Prophetic ministry offers the following benefits to the church:
Edifies the church.
Imparts encouragement, strength, and comfort to those who receive prophetic ministry.
Sharpens the believer’s spiritual ears to hear the Holy Spirit speaking to them.
Releases the body of Christ into their gifting.
Equips the body of Christ with grace and maturity.
Brings confirmation to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

What?

The concept and practice of prophecy and prophets were transformed at the cross of Christ. The New Testament definition and description of prophecy is redemptive; it is grounded in love; it is for the common good. In 1 Corinthians, the Apostle Paul teaches the Corinthians about spiritual gifts, including the gift of prophecy:
Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives—especially the ability to prophesy. . .. one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them. A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally, but one who speaks a word of prophecy strengthens the entire church (1 Corinthians 14:1-4).

There are many misperceptions about prophecy and prophetic ministry. Below is a list of what prophetic ministry is not and what it is.

LifeLinks Prophetic Coordinator
Diane Harrison, of Regina, Saskatchewan, is LifeLinks’ Prophetic Coordinator. As a 40-year member of Harvest City Church, Diane has been involved in prophetic ministry for 30 years and, for the last 25, been the prophetic coordinator at Harvest City. In that role she successfully trained and raised up a team that now ministers not only in Regina but has impacted many other LifeLinks churches and leaders as well—both in North America and beyond.
For the last number of years Diane also organized prophetic ministry at LifeLinks camps and conferences (when we could meet in person) and has, in general, been incredibly catalytic in seeing prophetic teams developed in many LifeLinks churches through onsite training and the use of books and resources she’s created.
